The 11th District has been my home since 1986. During the last 20 years you and I have shopped in a lot of the same stores, stood in the same lines, and I'm sure I have sat next to you in traffic. Now, I would like to take this opportunity to talk to you about why I am running for Congress.
Our government has become unmanageably large. You only have to stand in line at the Post Office or the DMV to be reminded of that. Government spending is out of control, and higher taxes are not the solution. As a business owner I have learned how to do more with less and I know that you and I can manage our money far better than Uncle Sam can.
Our freedom is the heart of the American spirit. To ensure this freedom we need to limit government. This involves reducing government spending, lowering taxes, and allowing the people to decide how best to spend their money.
As the father of three beautiful girls, I understand the value of a solid education. I know that our children have to come first because they are the America of tomorrow. I believe that setting a firm foundation for this great nation's future begins in the home.
